Monitoring and Alerts

» What is IS2Monitor?

IS2Monitor is a hosted website monitoring service that helps webmasters ensure their websites are up and running at peak performance. Our servers send out HTTP requests to your website at regular intervals of time and alert you if it is down.

» When does IS2Monitor report a website as Unavailable?

Website will be reported as Unavailable if:

• Website is not accessible.
• Response time of the website crosses 30 seconds.
• HTTP Response code is incorrect.
• Result page does not match predefined pattern

» Can I stop monitoring during my scheduled website maintenance?

Yes, you can login and tick checkbox in "Disable Monitoring" section. When maintenance is finished come back and remove this tick to resume monitoring.

» How do you define "response time"?

Response time is the time taken to get the full html output from the server. However, it does not include getting the images and other resources that are loaded within the html page.

» How many alerts will I get when my site goes down?

One. When your site goes down, you will receive 'Fail' alert describing the reason for the failure. When your site comes back up, you will receive 'Success' alert.

» What kind of alerts are supported by IS2Monitor?

Supported alert types include:

• Email
• SMS
• iPhone notifications (COMING SOON!)
• IM notifications (COMING SOON!)

» What do I have to do when I receive problem alerts from IS2Monitor?

First of all you or your technical staff need to check website and detect root of the problem: network issues, server hardware problems, software bugs, etc. Next, take necessary steps to resolve it. Once problem resolved you'll get success alert from IS2Monitor.

Accounts and Billing

» What type of accounts does IS2Monitor offer?

Currently we offer 3 types: FREE, BASIC and BUSINESS.

» How many pages can I monitor with my free account?

You can add 1 page (URL) with 15 minutes monitoring interval.

» How do I sign up for the free account?

Just complete our very simple form, process takes about 1 minute.

» Why should I upgrade to paid account?

There are two general reasons.

1. You'll have a possibility to monitor up to 10 pages (URLs) using BASIC account, and even more pages with BUSINESS account (plan parameters are customizable).
2. Decrease monitoring interval from 15 minutes down to 1 minute (actually you can choose 1/3/5/15). Recommended for professional use because system detects problems with your page(s) much faster.

» How do I upgrade to paid account?

Login to IS2Monitor and open summary page, click "Upgrade" link and follow instructions. See more details about upgrade to BASIC type in blog post.

» What payment methods supported by IS2Monitor?

Payments for IS2Monitor service are processed by 2Checkout.com, our authorized retailer. All payment methods supported by 2Checkout can be used: PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners, JCB.

» How do I downgrade my account?

Login to IS2Monitor and open summary page, click "Downgrade" link and follow instructions. Alternatively you can simply send your request through feedback form.
